Welcome to SudieAnn’s Homemade Classics
We are located in the heart of a little town called Little Elm, TX just outside of Frisco. Many people love the sweet treats and desserts made by their mom or grandmother, however the only time they can get them is during holidays or family functions. These classic desserts are fading fast because life is so busy or people just don’t have the skills to continue on with these timeless desserts. Well, have no fear, SudieAnn's specializes in classic desserts such as homemade 7-Up Pound Cake, Sweet Potato Pies, Chocolate Layer Cakes just to name a few. I plan to keep the traditions going by providing great ingredients, passion and love in each and every dessert that leaves our kitchen. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I am a true Southern Belle who grew up on amazing homemade foods and desserts. My Grandma Sudie would cook a full meal every single day with no short cuts. Let me tell you she made homemade biscuits from stratch, cream style corn she cut from the shuck, fresh green beans that had to be plucked not to mention desserts that melted in your mouth. Not one time do I remember her complaining because she did it all out of love. She and many others like her cooked from the heart and soul thereby creating Soul Food. I plan to extend that legacy for many years to come with Sudieann's Homemade Classics. How did I start baking? I am sad to say that my mother JoCarolyn and Grandma Sudie passed away in the 80's. Our family was truly devastated as the Matriarchs of our family were gone but not forgotten. Many of the foods and desserts were never documented as my Grandmother never used recipes. She did everything from memory and taste. I so wanted one of her Sweet Potato Pies but all I had was a memory. I decided to try the recipe from what I remembered watching her do when I was around 9 years old. I tried it and I could not believe I could remember everything she did. It took a few times but I knew I had done it when my Aunt Preanett said "This is as good as moms. " I was like YES!!!!! I have been baking these pies for years and people still love them. I then decided to try a cake from memory and I found that people love them as well. I now know I have a gift for these desserts as they are a part of me and I plan to share them with the world. SudieAnn’s is here to stay!
My Village: Thanks to the Ladies at LashGroup! If it were not for you, your support and your words of encouragement I never would have pursued my own business. Thanks for all the taste testing, the positive and negative feedback that has truly made me better. Thanks to my church family at the Potter's House North for guiding me though some of these processes. I could not have done it without each and everyone of you! Special Thanks: Thanks to the love of my life, my daughter, Ariel, who has encouraged me through this entire process. I love you to pieces! My Grandma Sudie, she was not only a wonderful cook, but one of the kindest people I have ever known. My mom, everyone that knew her loved her as she had a personality bigger than life. Both of these ladies will always live in my heart! To my dad, Eddie Senior. You have always been my biggest fan. My brothers Eddie Jr, Darryl and Darnell. My sister Earthaleen. I could not be more proud. Thanks to all of my family and extended family for all your love and support! Last but not least, Thank God! I cannot take credit because had he not given me this gift none of this would be possible. If you had told me a year ago I would have started a baking business, I would have laughed. I finally found my passion, and it not just about the desserts, but the love I will share with every dessert. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve. |
